Home-made Front Bumpers

I am wanting to make a sturdy front bumper for my truck to replace all the plastic that is on there now. I'm not going for looks as much as functionality, but if it is appealing to the eye I won't be disappointed.

 

Has anyone ever made one? I am trying to get some sizes and ideas. I have a 2003 Z71.

That thing is sweet! But not what I am looking for. I am looking for an actual bumper to replace the stock one that could maybe hold a winch and off-road lights.

Go googling and check out some of the aftermarket bumpers that are available with winch mounts. There are some cool ones that you could copy or modify the design of and make it your own!

In that case, check out Buckstop. They look pretty sweet, and wouldn't be impossible to fabricate.
