'07 Hd Tranny Question

I recently bought an '07 2500 HD with the 6.0 and the heavy duty six speed Hydramatic. I love the truck but I have a question abuot the tranny. This is the first GMC I have owned. When I drive around town at low-moderate speeds, the tranny will stay in a constant gear for a long time withut upshifting. I have had Fords in the past that continuously gear hunt in this situatin, which drove me nuts. Is this normal for this tranny, or am I starting to have problems? The truck has 52000 miles on it. If I get on the throttle to accelerate, it doesn't do this. Thanks in advance for any input.

its normal, the newer Hd trannys are programmed and built not to hunt gears because that burns the clutches up...drive away and be happy when it starts slipping or donkey punching into gears then be alarmed
