Hey all! First off I'll just say that this is my first post and I'd like to thank everyone for having me! Seems like an awesome forum to be a part of.

I have a quick question for anyone who has put 26" rim's on their sierra. I run an '09 SLT with the all terrain package and am looking to acquire a set of 26x10" Lexani LX7 rims. I'll be running 305/35/26 series tires and I'm not looking to do any major modifications as I'll be using stock rims and tires for winter. Any body have any major rubbing issues who has this setup?? I'm willing to do a little fender trimming and possibly a leveling kit but nothing extreme and if I could just slap em on there with a minor bit of rub I'd be fine with it. Thanks for any help!!

cheers

welcome to the site.

so long as you keep the overall tire diameter the same and the width the same i dont see why they would rub? if the tires are 32s on 17 inch wheels, whats the difference if theyre 32s on 26s- so long as the width is the same? im just asking questions, i really dont know if it would make a difference or not, but this seems to make sense to me.

but it seems youre going wider, 305 may be an issue, along with the 10" wheel. i dont know the height of what your proposing, dont feel like doing the math, but anything bigger than a 33 will more than likely cause issues as well

Yea the 10" will likely pose some problems. IF it works you will have to be very careful with the offset value.

Thanks for the help so far guys! I have to start doing some serious measuring here soon so I can get these wheels on the go.. I know I'm going to have to pick the perfect offset for these wheels but I'm pretty noobish when it comes to that. Anybody here wanna venture a good offset for a 10" rim? How bout a 9"?? Maybe I'll go on the hunt for a set of those instead, seems like it would make it easier

You should do a little home work on measuring for offset and check out a tire calculator like this http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

With out knowing your stock tire size I would be willing to bet that a 305/35/26 is gonna be a lot taller than your stock tire. Probably want to look at something around 285/30 or 285/35. I am not familiar with 26in tires so do a little searching around.

So here is my opinion.....The 305/35/26 that you are trying to run are a 34.4" x 12" tire....that will not fit at stock height nor with just a leveling kit. I have 275/60/20 on my truck (a 33" x 11" tire) with a 2" leveling kit and they rub slightly at full lock turning to the right....so logically if you are going to be running a bigger tire than me (1" wider and 1.5" bigger in diameter) means that you will rub...Probably a lot! I would go with a smaller aspect ratio. Good luck though, im sure it will look great when you are done.

P.S I would probably try to go with a 9" wide rim insead of 10"....you will have less trouble.
