Infinity Basslink Help?

Recommended Posts

Hey I am looking for some info on how to install and infinity basslink sub into an 07 silverado nbs. I will be using the stock headunit, and the truck does not have the bose system. The sub has both line level inputs and rca inputs. I know very little about this so any help would be appreciated. Technically couldn't I just use the the line level inputs and tap into the rear speakers so I wouldn't need to remove the head unit?

Yes, thats actually what they are for. But if you wanted to use rca's, you would have to get a pac adapter which also only taps into the rear speaker wires. So you won't have to remove the head unit either way.

Ok thanks that will make things a lot easier, so just clarify if I use tap off the rear speakers I will not need any converters of anything, and this shound't affect the sound quality of my rear speakers? Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to run the power wire through the firewall.

No converter is needed, and it will not affect the sound quality. It may take some power away, but notjing you should notice.

I don't typically like to bash other peoples equipment but watch out for the Basslink. I've personally owned three. They do sound great and are nice and compact in a pickup and easy to install. However all three of mine quit working after about 1.5 years. Similar symptoms on all that the amp would not power or would power but produce no audio.

i installed an infinity basslink in my truck. i got it new off ebay for like 240. it came with a 1 year warranty. i installed it behind the passenger seat in the back. i have bose and wanted a lil more thump. i was hoping this would be the key. i tapped the wires into the rear speakers after the amp since the rear speaker wires ran along the driver's side foot panel. i ran the power wire through the firewall through a grommet right under the brake booster. it came out pretty nice. i was happy i didnt have to run a remote wire to turn it on and off.

the only problem i get is once i open the door after its unlocked through the keyless entry it seems like the unit powers up. i can hear a bass thump every now and then once i shut off the radio. hopefully u dont get that problem. let me now. it could also just be the unit it self. my unit doesnt seem to boom loud at all. i was expecting not alot but just more. i heard that the factory bose turns down bass as it get louder. that might be my problem but idk. good luck with ur install. get creative with your bass knob. i installed mine in the same panel as the passenger air bag switch.
