Build Up On 99 Gmc 2500

Hey everyone, im new to this forum and have looked around quite a bit and found a lot of what i was looking for but i was wondering on some input on the mods i want to do to my truck.

 

Here are the specs of my truck:

 

99 GMC 2500

6L LQ4 Engine

K&N cold air intake

some waste of $700 exhaust

4L80E transmission

 

the rest is all stock.

 

im thinking about putting the Magna Charger RADIX Intercooled Supercharger in my truck and was wondering what other modifications i need to do so i dont blow out my Transmission/Engine. I have looked at different types of headers and from what i have read it seems that the shortys dont do a whole lot except make good sounds and the LT headers are the way to go. i have also read it doesnt matter if your using a supercharger. The one other thing i was wondering is if i would benifit form adding the L92 heads along with the supercharger.

 

This truck is my daily driver and i plan to do the work myself with the help of my dad who is a mechanic. I dont plan on doing this all at once. As i saved up money i figured id do it in stages.

 

Any help woudl be greatly appreciated and if u need to know any more info i will do my best to get it for you.

If you supercharge it, id guess your going to need a better tranny cooler.

 

How many miles on the truck?

I have 119,000 miles on the truck

 

ill look into transmission coolers too.
