Aftermarket Exhaust Questions For 2010 Silverado....

Hey guys, I was thinking of getting an aftermarket performance exhaust / muffler for my 2010 ext ltz with the 5.3l , but i've been out of the loop for a number of years reagrding performance aftermarket parts and such, so i'm not sure whats good or not anymore ( borla, flowmaster and so on ). I dont want anything too loud......Something with a nice low grumble.....a little bit more agressive and louder than the stock, but not something too obnoxious. Are there any direct bolt on's out there or would some welding be required as well? Any reccomendations or experiences?

Id recommend what i have on my '08. Get a borla. Rumbles when idling, not too loud though. Pretty loud on hard acceleration. But not too loud.

Thanks for the corsa info......they seem to have so many types. I did a youtube search and found some that say corsa SPORT and DB.....is there a difference here? I sent them an email asking for suggestions.

 

Anybody else have any suggestions?

It's kinda like asking someone to pick out a wife for you. So many choices, so many opinions, and, no matter which one you pick, someone will still wonder why. Just listen around for a sound you like and find out what it is. Corsa's mighty sweet, though. I've got a Gibson system on mine. Make sure that whatever you get can deal with the AFM/DOD exhaust note of the 5.3 V8, and you'll be happy.

Thats why am i am trying to find something that has a nice grumble, without being obnoxiously loud. I am fine with the AFM when it kicks in, i just want a little more of an agressive tone from the exhaust when pulling away from a stop and such.

Well the borla is 100% bolt on, no welding required.

When I emailed Corsa, they told me that they don't have one yet because there's something different about them.

As far as I know no cat back kits have been released for the 2010 model trucks. Your only option is a custom exhaust, replacement muffler, or wait..

DAMN !! This is always my luck. I buy a brand new truck and I cant even do my exhaust yet b/c nothing is on the market yet. I'd like to do a simple bolt on cat back system so I can just do it myself ( like the corsa sport )......i guess ill just have to wait. Thanks for the info though !!

This is what the rep at Corsa told me:

 

"Thanks for the interest in CORSA Performance.

 

At this time, we do not have a kit for the 2010 6.2 trucks. The front pipe has changed from the 09 models. We hope to have one in here soon to complete this kit.

 

Once this is done, we will have it pretty quick for you."
