Steering Noise ---help! (i Did Search)

2004 Yukon Denali XL 115K miles

(I did search and found replacing intermediate shaft with Dorman would eliminate sound. )

I hear a clicking/thug sound when turning the steering wheel at approximately 15degrees left and right. The sound is definitely more obvious and louder when its warm weather or truck is warm. I read that it could be a intermediate shaft but I am not sure.

The power steering pump was also replaced but it did not fix problem. I hate to bring to mechanic and spend money without fixing problem. I am new to board And I appreciate help or advice.

sounds like the intermediate shaft. I have the same thing going on, you can either replace it, get a grease kit, or i've heard you can tap a grease fitting into the shaft (thats what i'm going to try, it's the cheapest)

I may be experiencing the same. Anyone have a diagram or photo of the part in question (intermediate shaft)?
