Trans, Tranfer Case And Diffs.

I just inherited a 5gal pail of Allison Transynd synthetic tranny fluid and I am curious if it will be compatible/ok to use in my truck? (Meets fluid spec TES-295 (AN-01101) for severe duty and extended drain Intervals. Meets Dexron-111 (G34010) and Allison C-4-27403598.

I would also like to change the diff fluids as well as the transfer case oil but I am curious what is the proper fluids for these as well?

In the past I have always used Mobil-1 syn 75-90 gear oil for the diffs, is it still good/ok to use that or have the requirements changed for those components?

My truck is a 2009 Sierra ext cab slt 4x4 with the 5.3L engine and a 4 speed transmission and I only have 14,000 km's on it.

I am not in a real hurry to change things out but I would like to at least change the diff fluid this summer or coming fall and then eventually change out the tranny fluid around the same time or for sure next year?

Thanks

No, don't use the transynd. Your truck requires a Dexron VI atf in both the trans and the transfer case.

Transynd is for use in big trucks, buses etc. It would not be appropriate for your truck.

Differentials require a 75W-90 synthetic gear lube

Thanks, looks like I am going to have to sell it?

Any idea what a 5 gal pail and a 4 lt jug are worth?

you could try ebay and let the chips fall where the may, you could post an ad here and sell it cheap if they pay S&H. . Just be careful, shipping costs could be high to some area, a 5-gal pail will weight about 40 lbs + the box to ship it in. Most carriers won't take just the pail, it will have to be boxed.

I have no idea what the cost of it could be but I think its around $40 a gallon, more or less depending on where you buy etc, etc.

Thanks again, I will see if I can sell it locally or see if anyone I know that owns something that requires a Dex3 oil wants it?

Any idea if it would be compatible in Ford vehicles? My dad owns a 96 7.3 Turbo diesel and I don't believe he has ever changed the tranny fluid?

No, not for use in Furds

TranSynd® is manufactured by Castrol® and marketed in conjunction with Allison. TES-295 oils can extend drain intervals according to Allison recommendations in bulletin 1099C, and operators are eligible to purchase the Extended Transmission Coverage (ETC) warranty. ETC is an additional warranty beyond the standard Allison warranty.

Thanks again, I appreciate the info.

May try my Nephew and see if he wants it? He purchased my old 97 Sierra with the 5.7 and 4sp auto trans, which I believe took Dexron III?
