Added Corsa Sport

I cut my resonator off a few months ago to gain a better sounding exhaust. It made the stock 6.2L exhaust sound really good. Nice deep rumble that you could actually feel in your chest.

 

Well I came across a deal for a Corsa Sport catback system for a 03-06 Silverado Crew Cab 2500 on ebay for $300 + $60 shipping so I bought it. I knew it would not be a direct bolt on replacement for my truck since it was designed for a completely different one. The intermediate or head pipe did not fit. The 03-06 2500 had two pipes leading to the muffler and mine only had one. In addition to that my stock muffler inlet was offset and the Corsa Sport muffler was a center in and center out. So the shop I took it to had to custom make the head pipe. They cut off the existing pipe just after the flex pipe near the flange and ran a 3" pipe back to the Corsa Sport Muffler. They had to customize the hangers in to make it stable.

 

From the back of the muffler the Y pipe and tail pipes that came with the kit fit but required a good bit of tweaking. I used the tips that came with the kit.

 

Any way, after the swap I gained a good bit of low end acceleration and have to admit I'm happy with the setup. I'll post pics later.

It sounds really good outside the truck especially behind it. It is quieter inside the cab than the stock setup I had when driving at highway speeds. Honestly, I was surprised at how quite it is inside the cab.

Puts the sound out the back, instead of blowing your ears out inside. More sound all around, but focused out the back most. Hence why so popular, especially since the inception of AFM.

This is exactly why I bought the Corsa system. I had a Magnaflow on a previous truck and the in-cab drone was HORRIBLE! There is no question about it....Corsa is the best sounding, highest quality "no-drone-producing" exhaust system on the market. Well worth the extra cost!
