Paint Work

I had some damage repaired on my truck, and it required painting.  I was told not to do any kind of wax, or silicone based product on my car for the next 120 days because it will seal the paint, and if i do so, it will cause it to not breathe.  Is there any merit in this?

3-6 months is usually the key in paint curing before using any wax or polish products

Yeah, there is merrit to it.  120 days sounds a little long though.  Polishes are OK though.
