Check Engine Lights And Using Factory Remote Start

Recommended Posts

Posted

Turns out my brand new 2010 Sierra with 330 miles has a check engine light already. I noticed yesterday that the factory remote start doesn't work anymore either. Does anyone know if this is tied into the truck's computer to not work if the CEL is on?

I'm taking it into the dealer on Saturday and I'll provide an update. The code it's pulling is P0442 (small emissions leak...and no...my gas cap is not loose).

If the CEL is on, remote start is disabled. Its functionality will return once you get the problem fixed and the code cleared.

Thanks, I figured that's probably what the problem is.
