2001 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. The ABS light and the red brake comes on sometimes and has set a CO265 code as pending. When I cycle the switch off and then on the lights are off. Can you give me a place to start.

Here's a good place for you to start. There is a lot of info on this site concerning ABS problems. Use the search function in both the "fullsize truck" and "ask the gm tech" areas and you'll see what I mean. Good search terms are "ABS light" and "EBCM". Good luck :dunno:

Sounds like the ABS module has started its death dance..... Some of them Module Masters can fix... Dunno if yours is one they can fix or not. I have had a bunch fixed by them over the last year....

I had the same problem with mine and found the TSB in this forum link. I fixed/cleaned the gounding point for the EBCM on my truck and the problem hasn't re-appeared. That was over six months ago. Worth a try maybe.
