Abs Brakes

2001 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. The ABS light and the red brake comes on sometimes and has set a CO265 code as pending. When I cycle the switch off and then on the lights are off. Can you give me a place to start.

Here's a good place for you to start. There is a lot of info on this site concerning ABS problems. Use the search function in both the "fullsize truck" and "ask the gm tech" areas and you'll see what I mean. Good search terms are "ABS light" and "EBCM". Good luck

Sounds like the ABS module has started its death dance..... Some of them Module Masters can fix... Dunno if yours is one they can fix or not. I have had a bunch fixed by them over the last year....

I had the same problem with mine and found the TSB in this forum link. I fixed/cleaned the gounding point for the EBCM on my truck and the problem hasn't re-appeared. That was over six months ago. Worth a try maybe.

Go to the module masters website put your application in. Look that the pictures...... That will simplify things..
