remove 1500 badge on doors

How hard is it to remove the 1500 badge off my side doors. I am thinking about adding a custom graphic to the side of my truck, has anyone taken the 1500 badge off? What does it require. Easy to do. I'm worried about ruining the paint?

GooGone is the best product I have found for this step.  (parts stores, Wal-Mart, etc.)

thanks, I was hoping there were not rivets or anything behind there holding it on. I'm removing mine and doing my own custom decal.

Yeah I tried taking the emblems off the tailgate of my truck, scratched the #### out of it - I've done it on other cars and it works great... Don't know what happened there, just be careful

I just pulled mine off on a hot day. I used some 3M adheasive cleaner and it was done.

Wait.. maybe it was Goof Off...

Use a Hair-Dryer... Ive found, also, that citrus based cleaners are a stickers worst nightmare

I used a plastic putty knife on a hot day

I also remove the LS decal on the cab. I was really surprised at the amount of dirt that was working its way down behind the decals.

I finally got the custom decals I wanted. I plan to remove the badges and put them on sometime next week when they come in. I can't wait. I will definately post some pics when I get it all finished. Thanks for your help again guys. I plan to remove all the emblems, 1500, LS, Silverado and Chevrolet off the vehicle. I am adding SS decals as I am a huge fan on the Chevelle and Camaro.

I hope so, because that's what I'm planning  on pulling off my truck, all of them.

Believe it or not, I use fishing line. Use it like floss. Cuts through the adhesive backed tape with ease. Best thing about it, it won't scratch your paint.
