im asking this for a 2009 chevy express cargo,

but my insides are exactly the same in the 07+ 900 sierras and silverados.

my cargo van came with the base non aux, non cd radio and i want to swap it out for a aux cd play with the cat button.

thanks everyone.

I am pretty sure that your dash is not the same as the True Truck dash that is in the GMT-900s. I just looked it up on chevy.com and they don't look the same. I think this is because the styling of the van was done long ago and used to share components with the GMT-800s

the bezel and such around the radio is pretty much the same, i just need to know how this panel comes off, it looks like all one piece.

i have the whole same dash cluster, and radio, switches, only thing shared from 800s is the design as in cubby holes and such, not the pieces.

I took a picture of it and I'm having trouble posting it with my blackberry. Will post it tonight when I get home.

Thanks

Be careful if you plan to put an OEM AM/FM/CD unit in place of the AM/FM. I tried doing that and wasted my money because the unit with the CD came from a truck with a separate factory amp and my work truck didn't have an amp. The dealer called Delphi and it wasn't possible to upgrade the truck to make it the same as if it had been equipped with the amp/CD combo. I wound up getting an aftermarket radio with the adapter wiring harness module so the chimes, etc would still work.

I am not exactly sure how to remove this, but because the dash that is behind that panel is the same as the GMT-800s I would assume that you just pull lightly on the passenger side toward the handle. You then need the put the steering wheel and shifter as far down as they will go and continue pulling the dash free while working your way toward the driver's side.

Like I said this is an assumption based on previous knowledge that the truck is based on GMT-800 tech.

Hopefully someone one here will know for sure.

the steering wheel is non tilt, also there is no factory amp, this is the most base model of the base model u can get lol.

as u can tell the radio is the cheapest one.

i have found out that installing the OEM cd/aux mp3 doesnt require reprogramming either, perhaps these dont even have the extras in the system for the theft lock stuff.. had a friend that did this with a base sierra from his work.

i will see what i can do, there has to be tabs and such from behind there.

thanks for the help everyone, if anyone finds out more info let me know, ill let you know what i find out and how it does come apart.
