Would not honor Veteran Military discount. Also GM would not assist

Hi Tom,

Charlie Heinrich here. I see you dealt with my salesman Rob Virtuoso. I feel like he might not have made the extent of your deal entirely clear. We do in fact honor the military discount, and we could have happily offered it to you. The deal you ended up getting actually resulted in a better price than you would've gotten with the military discount. The military discount would have gotten you your truck at supplier pricing, but this would've negated some other discount possibilities (GM is very specific about which incentives we can use in conjunction with each other). We could have dropped the conflicting incentives and given you the military discount, but you would have paid more for your truck that way. We always strive to make sure that our customers get the lowest price possible on their vehicles and in this case, it made more sense to skip the military discount. If you would like to come in, I would happily sit down with you and personally show you how this deal worked out better for you. You can always feel free to give me a call here at the dealership as well - 716-434-6681.

I hope this clears things up a bit for you. I certainly don't want you to walk away from your new vehicle purchase in the assumption that you didn't get the best deal possible.

Sincerely,

Charles Heinrich

This didn't clear anything up. What He's saying is "anyone" can get a better deal by circumventing the military discount. This dealership wants to "wave the flag" but actually is doing smoke and mirrors to say they have supported the vets but in reality are doing nothing. Actually, by what He's writing here, they would of charged Me more by giving Me the Vet discount. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS !! Terrorists, muggers, rapist, child molestors, sex offenders...You call it...can get a better deal than a VET.

AND...stupid ME...I take the truck for it's initial oil change...tire rotation and get charged 87 dollars plus some change. The chrysler dealer does the same for My Wife's jeep for under 30. So I took the truck to another dealer(chevy) and they did the same thing,oil/filter/tire rotation 29 point inspection,(or whatever number that is) for 39.95 plus a 10 dollar rebate coupon.

Forgot to mention but heinrich will give you a free oil change if you do 5 with them. What a deal. 87 times 5.......are they really giving ANYTHING? or more smoke and mirrors.

I just purchased a new truck in Feb. I could have taken the supplier pricing, but I made a better deal and more discounts without going that route.

GM does some crazy stuff with prices, and if the dealer wants to sell at a lower price to get the deal you can't fault them for doing so. They need to move the vehicles.

Is it fair not to give the vets something? I am sure everyone has their say on that.... And this isn't the correct place to debate that. What you have to ask yourself is, are you happy with the pricing you received, do you feel you received the best deal? Keep in mind, you may have paid below invoice for the truck, and supplier pricing is NOT below invoice. If someone is a good negotiator yes, they can get a better deal if the dealer is willing to go there.

The cost of the oil change, shop for your best price, you fought for the freedom to do so. Just stay away from the marts that have a habit of not refilling the oil, or cleaning the filter mounting area.
