Like the title says anybody experiencing this shift flare mostly when cold and on the first couple of shifts. Have you had any luck getting one fixed or get the same old unable to duplicate answer? 6spd

Mine does it every afternoon when I leave work on the 2-3 shift and then i can't get it to do it again. Took to dealership and they couldn't duplicate. I'm not gonna be happy til this thing is tuned. Yes the six speed is smooth during normal driving but not a great performer(in my opinion) with the stock tune.

took mine in for the same thing, and basically got told its the nature of the beast. after 3-4 test drives they were able to understand what I was talking about. I guess there was a service bulletin that says "no repair to be made" or no "repair authorized by warranty". They said they would drop the pan and look, and if they found something it would be covered by warranty, but if they found nothing it would come out of my pocket.....I said thanks, but no thanks.... and drove it home.

Mine does the same, havn't found a solution either. I notice it most when navigating a certain intersection near my home. Coast through the intersection, and then I have to apply some rpm's to assend a hill exiting the intersection. Flares almost every time.

That's odd. Mine does it a little in the same situations as you guys. I'm pretty sure there is a TSB out on this for the 6-speeds. The fix to replace the o-rings in the valve body. Damn dealers never seem to be able to ferret out the correct TSB's for a customer's complaints.

Every six speed less allison transmission I have drove have a problem shifting. Sometimes they are a bit abrupt and other times it is like it jumps gears. Or hunts for the correct gear.

i know autos take longer to shift and normally shift a little harder when cold just to heat things up faster...

I understand that most new auto-trans will hold there gears longer up to a certain temp, no probblem with that. I have read that there is a TSB on this esp the 6spd which is what I have. My question is anybody with the 6spd been successful in getting a Dealer to actually perform it or getting the seemingly standard unable to duplicate response. This is not a prolong shift, hard shift but a flare as if you where accelerating a stick and without letting off and pushing in the clutch.

Last week, I brought in the TSB to for the techs to look at it. They drove it around and reproduced it, all they did was update the TCM and call it a day. I go at 5 o'clock to pick up my car and out of the parking lot, there goes the 2-3/3-4 flare again. Rpms went up about 200-300 rpms before it shifted. I was mad as hell, dashed back and asked the service advisor to come with me. Could'nt reproduce it back.

If it is the case of bad seals/o-rings in the tranny, will it affect the longevity?

Hmm, haven't noticed the 'flare' on my 6 speed. Seems like you guys are describing an RPM jump just before/during a shift? Mine might bounce up 50 RPM or something like that under certain throttle conditions but nothing major. I do have a 2-3 "bang" when cold if I have the throttle at a certain spot when it shifts.

I have a harsh 2-3 shift on my 08 Yukon XL Denali (6.2 with 6sp). It only happens on very light throttle when it is cold. I am also concerned about longevity and the dealer's ability to perform the needed service (drops trans and replace o rings, reinstall trans)....
