After Repalce Evap Valve<p0449>

Hi.My husband has 06 silverado and he just repalced EVAP valve.He did clear code but came back on.He been drive over 100mil already.

 

What he need to do next?Please help!!

After replacing mine, the light went off during the 3rd trip....mileage didn't seem to matter

Did he clear the history? Also keep in mind that the evap system does not run a test EVERY time the vehicle starts. There are parameters required for the test to be performed, one of which I believe is a minimum amount of gas in the fuel tank. Did the light come on right away after clearing??? If so, rescan to see if in fact the same P0449 code is set, might be something else wrong setting a different code. Best way is to go to a local autozone, and ask them to do it. Most of the scanners they have will show hisory of the code, which needs to be cleared to totally reset. If you do that and then start the vehicle one time, and run a check with the scanner hooked up. If the light comes back on right away, or throws a code to the scanner upon that first startup, something else is wrong.
