2005 1500 Oil Pan Crack

So i noticed after a few drips on my driveway that my oil pan had a crack in it, the only source i can find for a new pan is here

anyone have another source? or know of a good brand? i would like to not pay $275 for a OEM pan.

 

also, if someone has taken the pan out of their car, is there anything i will run into?

 

it is the 5.3 motor

Well I guess you don't want to get one off ebay, where they start at about $35. So you might have to go through the dealer, or you could try gmpartsdirect, where they are about $160.

 

And the oil pan on the 5.3 is pretty easy to remove and replace.

oil pan is straightforward to replace unless it's 4wd, if it's 4wd it can be done, but you'll have to drop the front differential to do it.
