I Just Can't Reset Dtc P0449 With My Actron Handheld

3 months ago, p0449 started throwing in my ecm.

erased it few times, but it always came back again, so I left it alone.

today I tried to reset it and guess what:

with the engine off and ignition on, I confirmed to reset the read codes.

it showed no more codes, and when I started the engine, CEL was there.

What may happened? the evaporative vent valve solenoid got stucked?

A code that can't be cleared is an active code. And it will continue to illuminate the CEL until the problem is fixed. It could be the Evap Vent Valve solenoid is bad, could be a wiring issue to the EVVS. The Evap system does a system check when you first key up the vehicle. If something doesn't pass the system check, it illuminates the CEL.

vent valve near gas tank replaced ,dtc erased, truck is perfect again!
