So I had the dreaded p0449 code and I been doing lots of research and I was going to buy the cheap 30 part and replace the vent valve sloenoid. So I got under mu truck and took the old one off and dirt and dust went everywhere. SO I cleaned it out real good and reinstalled it. I cleared the code by taking the positive off the battery. Well the check engine light came back on in about 30 seconds. SO I was going to buy the part( Ac delco 214-2149) and install the new one and guess what? The check engine light went off. Its been off now for a bout 7 starts and has not come back on. I was wondering if I fixed the problem just by cleaning it out?? SHould I replace the solenoid or just leave it alone? Thanks
