Looking For GM Trip Computer HELP

I am looking for the GM Trip computer like the one pictured on this link. I want to install one of these in my Silverado. Do we know if the wiring is up in the overhead console and I have to do is plug it in? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not sure myself, but if there is anyone who can help you, it would be jpendlum. In that link, you'll see a link to send him a Private Message (PM), or you can ask him on the forums. I think he's working on a trip computer system for the trucks, but not sure if it's the same thing you posted. Check out his sites, he has tons of cool stuff.

WOW I want that trip computer!

I think it just reads Class 2 data (either that or UART data) so I think it should work.

The wiring isn't there, but I think all it will need is constant power, switched power, illumination input, dimming input, and serial data input.

I'm pretty sure he had to wire it in, because that's not the factory location for that trip computer. The trip computer goes in the center console.

I want that trip computer though!!!

in this months truckin' the cover truck 2002 gmc sierra has the denali trip computer in it, so it has to work, just don't tell how he did it tho

Going to be some $ if Jason's able to put 1 together. It would look/work great on these trucks though being that vehicles as a whole have gotten more upscale.

These are the Trip Computers that they put in the GMC Denali. GM is the maker and designer of the computer. Anyone have any good idea's where I could find GMC Denali parts online?

go to www.pickuptruck.com and search the forum there. I put one in my 2002 1500HD. It works great. Very easy to wire in also. All the information including wiring are there.

Here is the next latest link I got. The computer retails for about 338.00 is the best price I can find on it.

I have not called my dealer yet. But I will post more if I find more information. I still have one email out on this and am waiting for a response.
