Bilistein Leveling Shocks

Recommended Posts

I have an '08 CCSB 1500 Z71 Silverado, I have been going back and forth trying to figure out what way I want to level my truck. I recently saw the new Bilistein Leveling Shocks and was wondering if anyone has any idea if these are a good subsitute to a "spacer" leveling kit?

My second question is once my truck is leveled what are the tallest tires I can fit on the stock 18" rims and stock 17" rims. (Depending on which tire is bigger I have the ability to switch out my rims at a dealership for the 17") Does anyone have pictures of similar setups?

Thanks

Unless you need new shocks.... the spaces will achieve the lift without the cost. There is really no difference. Its still extending the front suspension to achieve the lift.

I do need the new shocks as well. Correct me if I am wrong but don't some leveling kits put strain on other components of the suspension. (i.e. ball joints)

Anything over 2" will yes... Do you have alot of miles already? No matter how you level, unless your dropping the front diff, is going to cause added stress.

RC is a 2" leveling kit.

I went through the same thing as you, and I ultimately decided with the RC 2 inch leveling kit. Not only is the RC kit way cheaper, but it is way easier to install. Here is my truck with the RC 2 inch kit

Im going with the CCM 2.5" level kit on my 2010. I want mine level so 2.5 is needed. Its like 75$

I have virtually the same setup you do and I went with the bilsteins. It is a firmer ride to say the least but I went from a 2500 series to the 1500 so it doesn't bother me. I think it's just preference; if you need or want new shocks go with the bilsteins. If you don't need or want new shocks get the spacers. They accomplish the same thing.

the front diff has nothing to do with the balljoints and tie rods which are also affected... its not just the CV joints (they're actually the least of the worries imo). you know that
