07 Suburban With Nav -- Scratching Cds/dvds

Recently bought an 07 Suburban with factory Nav that is putting circular scratches on CDs and DVDs. It also clicking when it spins up the discs. This started happening after watching a DVD (w/o issue the night before). Started up the next day and it started making a bunch of clicking sounds and wouldn't eject the DVD. After holding the eject button down about 10 times, it finally spit the disc out.

 

At this point any disc I put in would result in "disc read error". Fixed that problem by pulling the fuse, but since then, the clicking and scratching has persisted.

 

I assume it's an alignment or mechanical problem, but hoping there is an easier fix than sending off for repair (or replacing).

 

Let me know if you have any ideas.

 

Bumper to bumper has expired and it's not GM certified.
