Tachometer Not Working Properly - 08 Silverado

Hi All

 

It seems that my tachometer has a mind of its own. The needle moves as it should when accelerating, excpet its shows about 4,000 rpm when it should be about 2000. When i shut the truck off, the needle went down to about 2500 and stopped. All other gauges seems to be working properly. Any idea what could be casuing this? My truck is just off warranty... its an 08 Silverado crew, Z71 with the 4.8L

call your service manager and ask if there is a special policy or bulletins for your concern or not ,thats all we can advise you Ryan

 

maybe just a reprogram,call him
