I have an 09 with no oil pressure gauge, has anyone installed a seperate gauge off the sending unit? what are some ideas to install utilizing the OEM sensor.

thanks

My chilton says the V8 sending unit is not very accessible, and to use an oil filter adaptor...that doesn't help much, huh. Anyone else?

I just changed out my oil pressure sending unit and your Chiltons manual is spot on! It's not impossible to get to, but with a little effort, you can do it. It took a 1 1/16" deep well socket and a universal joint with a 4" extension bar.

You cannot see the switch but feel around, its on the drivers side on the back of the block close to the firewall.

Where you gonna mount it? I've been wanting to get a trans temp gauge for mine but I might just get the cluster with it already installed. Have you thought about upgrading your instrument cluster?

Ok so if you do that, would you have to run wires to the dash cluster, or would plugs be there?

Are you talking about taking a cluster from a truck that has oil pressure and such?

This was sort of discussed here:

You could use this guy and have a oem cluster. Its is plug and play as your wires are already in the dash. Has anyone dealt with him ? how is the service ?

Hmmm, 200$ and you don't have to install any wires or nothing, but you'd have to buy a new bezel that has the two extra holes I'm assuming.(bezel=plastic piece over the gauges)

Sounds like its getting expensive...
