Remove Gasoline From 2008 Silverado Gas Tank?

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to remove gasoline from my 2008 Silverado tow vehicle to use for a generator on my travel trailer. I do not want to carry a gasoline container in my truck. I am unable to siphon the gas from the tank due to the siphon proof gas tank. Is there a way of doing this without becoming a Darwin Award Winner?

Yes, it is called safety gas cans. You fill them with gas and place them in the bed of the truck don't forget to tie them down......

Edgewise you could cut and splice the vent tube and run a hose down the vent hose.

Or you could drill a hole in the gas tank on the bottom and put an outlet in (would not suggest this however).....

Or get a propane generator and a bottle rack for the camper....

Put the gas container in the travel trailer?

Don't mess with your factory fuel setup. It's a closed loop system and you'll be throwing codes if you start hacking it. Plus you might get all blowed up.
