I cant find a definate answer after all my searching. I have a 2010 cc sierra. I had the dealer throw in a nav unit with the deal. I installed it and haw no chimes low volume, no onstar, or bluetooth after the install. I went to have it programmed at the dealer with no luck. The gm accessories rep is swapping it out for another unit. I dont have bose or rse. My question is has anyone got a nav unit to work with my configuration, just plug and play, and programming of course. I cant believe this is such a hassle. I got the entire kit with the vss, the gps antenna and harness for xm etc...the part number I received is 19244269 for the kit which included the 19244248 head unit. I want to stay factory with this if it is possible. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

When the radio boots does it show Sound by BOSE and GMC on the screen? As far as low sound it's going to require you to add an amp. Did you install the voice harness to the on* module?

The OEM Nav units will not work without an amp. Either the Bose amp or an aftermarket one. If you go aftermarket I suggest the Alpine PDX-5. You can run four door speakers and your subs with this amp. Best of all it's a small form factor. It will fit just about anywhere.

Did you have bluetooth before the install? Some people aren't aware that the blue tooth is controled by the VCIM and not the nav unit. It sounds like a programming issue to me. Had this dealership ever done such an upgrade before? It's a bit tricky. Ask them what VIN they were using for programming purposes. If they say they were using yours, that's likely your problem right there. Since your vehicle doesn't have NAV as an option, your VIN won't open all the correct options to change in a tech - ii. Have them find a VIN for a loaded version of your truck and use that to unlock the options portion of the tech - ii scan. From there they should be able to check your RPO codes and make sure everything is correct. Should take care of the chimes at least.

Ok I have now installed the 2nd unit it still isnt right the rep said this one would work. My music is louder my chime is back on star xm but not my usb. I'm so frustrated with this it should be a little easier to make this work or just not sell them at all. This is evedently the first one my dealership has attempted. Schram I did have bluetooth before. The tech didnt really understand what I was talking about in refrence to tricking the tech 2 with a diff. vin.Maybe I should just give up or install an amp. Then If I ever gget it to where it will work i will then be upset because it doesnt play dvd. I anso frustrated right now. I wish the I lived somewhere close to someone that knows how to do this. I guess the search continues!!!!!!!!

Take it somewhere else, call around. Make sure the place doing the upgrade has done it before.
