Ah yes, the Big Ten.  The times that I like out of there won, Illinois, Ohio State (even though they are going to wipe up the floor with us), and Penn State, the teams I hate lost, can't stand Michigan or Michigan State.  Would have loved to see Northern IL pull it out, but that #### Wisconsin team got them at the very end.

Man, if that wasn't an a$$ kicking I don't know what is.  I would have never figured Nebraska to get beat that badly.  Heck, I figured it would be the other way around.  And what about the Colorado/USC game.  Yet another Big 12 team receiving a stomping.   :(

I went and watched KSU play yesterday afternoon.  The conditions were great up until halftime, but after that it looked a lot like the Clemson game.  Rained so hard that it actually flooded the parking lot.  And of course no rain was predicted, so me and my buddy sat out in the rain without any rain gear.  It got dang cold, but it was fun anyways.  Hopefully it doesn't rain when I go watch them play USC next weekend.....

Hey Tom, our Mountaineers won a close one too.  :D

Cincy kicked a field goal as time ran out to put in into overtime and it hit the upright.  WVU won by 3.

That SC/GA game was awesome, I was hoping SC would pull it out.

And the Notre Dame game was great.  Iwould love to see them go undefeated with their new coach, but I figure they'll lose one to Florida State, unfortunately.

As for Penn State.  Dnag they kicked butt.  That 2nd string QB who played receiver and tailback for most of the game was awesome.  Forget QB, play RB and stay there!!!

Yeah, I followed the WV game on a site on the internet.  If we could just win some big games.  I think Rich will have "his" team doing pretty decent with some time.  He's only got one year of recruiting kids and still has some of Nehlen's recruits.

I was hopong Carolina would win too.

Screw Notre Dame, I could care less if they ever win another game.  :D

Tom, agree with you 100% about Notre Dame!!  I watched U of M give that one away - not to slight their players and coach though, but U of M just didn't want to win it!!

I'm always happy when WVU wins - I didn't catch this game, or the U of Wisc. game, but Rich must have gotten things straightened around @ half-time as they made it a game against WI in the 2nd half.

Being a Penn St. opponent for so long, it always irks me to see them win, but you gotta hand it to Joe Paterno - he can still make things happen!

Go Mountaineers!!!

We have problems here at Nebraska. It was humiliating leaving Beaver stadium last night. Flew to Baltimore Friday afternoon, drove to Harrisburg Friday night, on to State College Saturday morning feeling pretty confident. Spent the day tailgating and downtown in the bars. Walked back up to the stadium, caught the end of the Notre Dame game on TV, saw the Penn State team leaving the blue buses (personally I like our tunnel walk better), got my seat up in Section NL and it was all down hill from there.

I got to be honest with you, I had to think twice about putting Husker red on this morning for the flight back. The loss in and of itself is not as bad as the trend of developing losses. Penn State played a great game, we were out coached and manned. Craig Bohl isn't doing himself any favors.

One of the sportswriters in the Harrisburg paper this morning had an interesting observation about Penn State having finally changed their offensive strategy (not to Joe's liking initially) two years ago. He mentions that Nebraska's one dimensional strategy just doesn't work without superior atheletes. I just hope we aren't headed in the same direction OU went for about ten years.

Anyway - YOU ARE PENN STATE! Good luck with the rest of your season.

I watched the Wisconsin game.  They were GIVEN a TD on 3rd and long that was CLEARLY out of bounds, had it been in the NFL it would have easily been overturned and they would've only got a feild goal.  Shortly after they were given another TD when the guys knees hit the ground before the ball crossed the goal line.  You never know maybe they would've scored the TD anyway after that one, but you could tell the team just kinda gave up after that one was given to them.  AND WVU got called for roughing the passer everytime they even brushed the QB.  I saw the FLA/MIA game later that night and both QB's got drilled much harder over and over as they released the ball and it never got called.  I honestly think the Defense just gave up halfway throug the 1st quarter and the whole second quarter b/c they were getting screwed.  We held them scoreless in the 2nd hald, and were about to score again when the clock ran out.  Had it not been for all the bad calls we may have won that one.

Geez, Elwood that sucks!!  Makes you wonder if maybe they were Big 10 officials? Thanks for that info - I didn't read anything but how UW won and who scored - no mention of the evident poor calls and the fact that UW scored no points in the 2nd half!!

Sounds like he's getting their heads screwed on straight, so that's good.  IMO WVU will always have a difficult time recruiting lots of blue chippers, what with all the regional competition for the quality players, so his job will probably always be a time of ups and downs, kinda like Nehlen, I think.

(Hope I'm wrong there)

It was Big Ten Officials, and there was neer any mention of the second bad call.  Heck the first one was only mentioned once and that was it.
