Converting A 96-99 Suburban To Dually

Hello Group

I had a 99 Suburban 2500 4x4 with the 7.4L and really liked it. I now have a 96 DRW CC 3500 with the 7.4L and was wondering could I have the best of both worlds? I once saw an older (93?) Suburban for sale with duallies so I wondered if I get another 96-99 Suburban 2500 4x4 with the 7.4L what can I do to install the dual rear wheels? Would it be a simple as swap rear axles? I saw a website for a company that sells spacers but some have said that compromises the strength of the suspension.

Thanks

Joe

You can swap in a dual rear wheel axle but I'm not sure what you'd do for fenders. Maybe modify some pickup fenders? Seems like you'd run into some fabrication issues with the rear doors...

I'd imagine some fabrication work would also be in order to make the spring perches and other hardware fit on the rear axle.
