Yeah, Detroit radio has been having fun with this guy's ideas today.  Let's not forget that he writes for The New York Times - "all the (liberal) news fit to print."  I wonder if he's one of Al Gore's buddies.

Maybe thats an indication that maybe people shouldn't have been out then.  Sure, we're taking our truck out in the snowstorms, but I'd think the fact cattle gotta be fed no matter what could be called a legit reason, wonder how many of the others could be called legit reasons.  I really don't know if having a 4x4 caliber snow once in two years shows the need to have all those wheels turning, but thats a different story.

 

Been my experience living right on an interstate and state highway is that when snow falls, most of the problems arise from the truck and SUV drivers.  They have no business being out there, only there since they can be.  When you see the firetrucks heading out in the middle of a snowstorm, 90% of the time you ask what happened you are told, "SUV flipped in the median, again."  

 

Yeah, you aren't going to see me saying SUVs and trucks are great, not going to say they suck either.  All I'm going to say is they sure cause a lot more problems than they solve.

 

As per usual, I fully expect to thoroughly piss off 98% of the users of GMTC (after reading this, their appearance will look like this :angry:  ).  I did keep myself in check with what I was going to say, toned it down a bit.   :thumb:

Well Jp, all I got to say is that I will glady join you in the 2% group that agrees with everything you said.  I wanted to type out a similar response a few days ago when I first seen this topic but decide otherwise as I wouldn't have been able to tone things down.  Its absolutely amazing how stupid some people get when driving during the winter, just because they have a 4wd vehicle.  But as we all know, they "needed" it to make winter travel safe....

Well who was going to pick my brother up at school that evening?  Who was going to go to my grandma and grandpas to shovel their sidewalk (gotta keep up id rather do a few inches an hr than a few feet a few days after the snow stopped)?

You've got to be kidding me!  Yall were so mad over something as trivial as who has a "legit" reason to to drive in the snow that you had to wait a few days so you could "tone it down a bit"?     Yeah, some people don't drive the greatest in the snow, but they also don't drive the greatest on a perfect day either.  What is a "legit" reason anyway?  I'm sure everyone has their own "legit" reasons, even if others think they are or not.
