a guy at work is saying he has seen claims of the 6.0 hitting 450 hp with a blackbear tune. not to dis justin or jenna, i love my tune, but i think 95 hp is a little out there. someone correct me if im wrong. i just dont see it

i personally know his is just a flowmaster. but he was saying just the tune. and by the way thanks for mine it was everything i wanted.

i just dont see it realistically. a cam will help. but hes talking just the tune, and saying it wont void warranty according to gm. but hell i want to cam mine. i just dont want to disassemble my engine.

Cam swap in your truck is easy as pie.

Hell, I've done one in a GTO in about 3 hours (first time it took us about 6-7 hours) with a couple of friends. The hardest part is swapping the springs...And some cams don't even require that.

if i do it it will be an LS6 cam. but i have to remove heads and all that. im ditching the truck next year for an 06-08 2500 4x4. not worth it to me

they ride on the cam dont they? so they have to be removed to put the new cam in, at least in what ive rebuilt they do. and why replace springs? wont the valves fall if i pull the springs

There are two holes in the front of the block where you slide dowels (3 bucks at Home Depot) in to hold the lifters up while the cam is out.

Depending on the cam, and the factory springs you have installed, the cam may be too big, and require stiffer springs. If you're just doing an LS6 cam, probably not.

The valves won't fall because you pull the spark plug and put a fitting/airhose in the hole to pressurize the cylinder with your handy-dandy air compressor.

Keep in mind that I've only done cams on LS1s and LS2s...

well its a LR4 so its a cast iron small bore ls1 pretty much

Yeah...Should be the same.

If you've got the tools...It's an easy job. I'd rather do a cam in my car than do the headers again.

/will probably be doing a cam soon...Because everybody needs over 600 horsepower at the wheels in a street car
