06 Sierra Aux Stereo Input?

im wondering if theres an auxillary input on my 2006 sierra slt stereo? its got the bose system in it with multi disc changer in the head unit, not sure how many, havent tried feeding it yet, lol. but ive got sirius sat radio and an ipod id like to feed through the stereo and so far i havent found a hole to connect my wire into. do i have one or am i sol and will likely have to use the fm tuner again which i hated doing.

did a bunch of reading on the subject last night. looks hit or miss for the most part. guess im gonna have to yank the deck from the truck to see if it has an input in the back of the radio. if not ill likely end up with one of the adapters that plug into the harness that are mentioned on here. all i wanna do is feed my ipod into it to listen to music, lol.

You have two options:

 

You can get the iSimple ISGM575 adapter which adds an auxiliary input and iPod interface. It can also add Sirius, HD-Radio, and Bluetooth too.

i like the cheap method but regretfully i dont have a satelite radio feature on my head unit. its a bose with 6 disc in dash changer. i actually found some instructions on yanking it out today so i pulled the plastic dash panel off, had to remove a few screws and found that the wires were real short and i could only pull the radio forward a few inches. i almost reached in there and un plugged the connecotrs but then remembered that in an older gm vehicle i had when i unplugged the factory deck it needed a code to make it work again so i left it alone. wonder if this is the case aswell.

 

has anyone tried one of the fm transmitter units that go over the vehicles antenna, id imagine that would have a bit of a stronger signal than just your basic fm tuner would.

 

other than that unless someone can clarify if i can make this work on a non xm vehicle ill have to buy the adapter at some point.

 

although i do have on star, is there a way to mess with the input wire from onstar and turn it into a jack for an mp3 player?

Yeah the wires sometimes get snagged on the plastic lip behind the radio.

That should be possible because the OnStar module is separate from the radio, but unfortunately the audio from OnStar is only mono.
