Vin Decoding

I read the pinned topic about the vin decoder. I did this for my truck and was just curious to how accurate this is? Its pretty nice to know some of the things the truck has that I was unaware of when I purchased it. Such as the 3.73 gear ratio. I thought the paint color was summit white, but apparently it is called Olympic white if this is accurate.

It states I have the HD transmission, was that a standard feature?

I guess the power sliding glass rear window is a feature that wasn't on too many trucks. I don't know why GM doesn't put this on more trucks, seems like all the competition has it as a standard feature. While I was looking for my truck I noticed it on many trucks, except the GM.

Anyways, I guess im going to have to try the vin off of my wife's Traverse now.

Tried the pinned VIN decoder for my 2010 but it couldn't find it for some reason. I agree it's nice. Don't think the HD trans was standard but could be wrong. I thought it was part of a tow package. Power sliding glass rear is nice if you have a sliding rear glass. I actually looked for one without any rear sliding glass. Back in college I dated a girl whose father had a pickup and when I drove it with ther rear slider open, dirt and crap from the bed would be sucked into the cab. Since I would never use it, I wanted one with a solid piece of glass and with a rear defoger.

No that was on paved roads. Her father actually hauled dirt, mulch and stuff like that in his all the time. Our truck are much too nice for that stuff though, right?

that VIN decoder is JUNK. my 2009 is not found, when they are bragging about having 2010 models available, really???

that VIN decoder is cool! It worked on both my 2004 Olds and my truck. I'm going to try to sell the Olds, so it helps to know everything that it has. I can just print the sheet and say, 'Here! That's what's in it!'
