Is the big ugly chevy emblem on the tailgate removeable? does it have any locating pins behind it that will leave holes when removed? My buddy wants to remove his, but he said it feels like theres something locating it. Its an 07 or 08 avalanche LTZ Z71.

I have 2007 Chevy Avalanche so I can tell you that there are 2 small holes in the tailgate for the locating pins on this emblem. So do not remove it. For more information on this go to the www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com

That stinks if there's locating pins. That's the only thing I don't like on the Chevy rears is that huge Chevy symbol. My borther-in-law has a 2010 Silverado LTZ and I have been telling him to pull that symbol off. Does that mean his has locating pins too?

Nope, tell him to go rip that ugly thing right off, I debadged my truck and absolutely love the look

On the 2007 & up trucks you can remove the bowtie and it will look perfect no locating pins, no holes exposed. But on the 2007 and up Suburban and Tahoes if you remove the rear bowite, you will see where the locating pins are and your going to be left with two holes exposed.
