Retrax Pictures Inside!

For anyone who maybe interested I thought I'd throw some pictures up of my Retrax cover I installed about a month ago. I took the truck into the dealership today to get detailed so it looks all purddy. The Retrax replaced the Extang Solid-Fold I had previously, that was a good cover, unfortunately it only took the girlfriend 3 months to figure out how to destroy it....I wish I would have gotten the retrax in the first place!!! Top Notch!

thats nice man, how much is soimething like that worth and how much room does it take up while fully open?

id be careful with that cover ive noticed the retrax scratches extremely easily...

Great looking cover! I have a 09 GMC Crew Cab the same color and have been wondering about Retrax. No one sells them locally (PE and R&L). Did you order it from Retrax, and did you get the discount I heard about for being on this forum? Do you still like it? No rattle's or scratches yet? Sorry about all the questions. Since I don't have one I can actually look at I have to rely on people and pics.

Now that I have had the cover on for a few months I'll finally respond to questions ;)

No noise at all that I have noticed, you'll see it flex in the rear view mirror when going down the highway.

With a little bit of snow you can, but the front of the canister is not fully enclosed so you dump some snow in your bed. I brush the snow off when I know I'll be accessing it.

I ordered direct from Retrax, I was able to get $50 off by talking about the forums. I love the cover, and so far no major scratches that I have noticed. No rattles either.

 

 

Only con I have seen is with freezing rain, I have had water get underneath the handle cover freeze the popup spring up. Not really a big deal, I just poured hot water on it, popped up the handle let it dry. Once "dry" it may have ice on it from the water, just close and open the handle a couple of times and it breaks any ice in the spring.

 

I am currently relocating due to a job change so I am living with my gf in her apartment. Good piece of mind knowing I can toss belongings in the back and not have to worry about theft. I also bought a tailgate lock.
