Lift Block Installation

I've ordered some 2-inch blocks for the rear to replace the 1.25=inch ones. I have a RC leveling kit and feel like the back of my truck is a hair lower than the front, never actually measured it on perfectly flat ground, but its the looks that matter right? Plus I have a heavy boat I tow and a couple snowmobiles, and sometimes theres one in the back, and a little rake doesn't bother me too much.

 

I was wondering if anyone has installed these and how it was to do it. I'm planning on doing it with jackstands and a floor jack, but any secret tips would be greatly appreciated.

Jackstands and a floor jack will do the trick. Lift the truck up by the rear diff. Place jack stands a little further up under the frame. Loosen/remove one sides u-bolts. Lower the diff with the jack. Once there is enough room, remove the old block then slip the new one in. Make sure the shorter side of the block faces the front of the truck. Jack the diff up again, put on new u-bolts, tighten, then repeat on the other side.

I did the same thing, put a level kit on thought it made the truck look like it was sitting higher in the front than the back so I bought a set of Readylift 2" blocks.

 

Easy install, I did it a little differently. Parked the truck on a flat surface, unbolted the ubolts and jacked up the side of the truck, slid lift block on, installed new ubolts, let the side of the truck down and tightened everything up. Repeat other side.

 

Very easy, took like 30 mins....

And how does it look after the install? Is there as much rake as there is stock?

 

I'm looking to do the exact same, as I tow a fair bit, and don't want the back end sagging when hitched up. With the stock setup, the truck 'levels' when I'm hitched up because it brings the back end down.

I've been lazy, so they haven't been installed yet, but should be installed this weekend. I will take pictures after the install. I don't think there will be as much rake as stock, in order to acheive that, you would have to go with a 3" block to acheive the 2" of lift provided with the leveling kit. I have been reading up on this and it seems if you go with a 3" lift block, you would have to replace the shocks. I want mine to be as close to level as possible, and don't want to replace the shocks since the truck only has 5500 miles on it.
