Yes, they share the same holes

there will be no holes in the carpet where the console sat.....like stevens said, they share the same mounting bolts

You mean the part towards the front that sits on the floor dosent bolt down to the floor at all?

There are 2 different consoles for a 2008 sierra

 

1 sle console for the "truck" dash

2 slt console for the "suv" dash

 

My avalanche had the suv dash as seen in the slt trucks. I had a jump seat and I replaced it with the slt style console. The only bolts were where the jumpseat was. There was nothing securing it to the dash area

 

Finding an sle console is more difficult to find from what I understand and I do not know if an slt console will fit and sle dash truck

the difference in the two is the way the front end is shaped to fit the different dashes. I have seen the SLT in an SLE, but there is a gap between the two.

The second one is from a 2500 SLE, but the console is for the true truck dash. An easy way to tell the difference is the extra storage at the front and lack of the extra side panels on the truck version.
