2000 GMC pulling a 30' 5th wheel

Well I have some pictures of my father pulling his 30' 5th wheel camper with his 2000 GMC 1500.  He had a set of air bags installed in the back to level out the ride. seems to have worked fine for now. He doesn't plan on pulling this camper long distances though with that truck.

I'm glad he made it safely.  The airbags looked they did the job for him.

 

How did the 5.3L handle the load???

He told me that there was no problem pulling the weight at all with the 5.3, But any time he wanted to slow down or stop that's when you can really feel the difference between that truck and HD. the Camper just simply out weights the truck by so much if he wanted to do some long distance pulling he would have to upgrade the truck. But for what he's going to do with it this truck is fine for now.
