Interior Panel Coming Apart

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember a TSB or something about the interior panel, between the front and back doors. It comes up from the floor and meets the seatbelt, on the crew cabs passenger side. There was a TSB issued for a replacement panel with an addition "peg" on the inside to hold it against the frame. The problem is that it currently pulls away from the frame, where it meets the weather stripping on the front and back doors.

Any one have the TSB?

i have the same issue in my Avalanche. which BTW is 3 weeks old.. the dealer has already replaced the panel, but still having the same issue, and they didn't mention any TSB, just said that because it was the dealership owners demo truck they would handle it.

I dont remember the TSB number but I heard it doesn't help fix the problem. When people would get in the backseat they would kick the bottom of the panel and make it pop off the cab. There are little tabs on the bottom of the door sill plates that broke off too.

I ended up using zip ties to hold them securely to the cab. No problems whats so ever now. You can kick the crap out of them getting in the truck and it wont budge.

BTW I bought the stainless steel door plates thinking the tab would not break on them and it would hold the panel better, but the stainless door sills dont even have the tab on them.

so anyone have a fix for this problem then? It seems like its only on the passenger side. Drivers side seems to fit. I'll try to add a picture.
