08 Fan Afterblow Function Decription?

i just had the afterblow function on my 08 2500hd sierra activated for the musty odor from vents. can anyone give me a detailed description of "when and how long this function operates?" my fan didnt turn on at all after i shut off truck yesterday. i live in CT. and temp was about 58 degrees yesterday. no instructions from dealer.

nothing was running. then turned on a/c for about 2 min. then shut off and turned truck off...nothing...heard older model vehicles that had the kit installed: it would only run when the ambient temp around unit would hit 60 degrees. i thought that it would run for a while whenever you turned your vehicle off.

The fan runs to dry out the condensation on the evaporator. If the temp of the evaporator wasn't low enough to form condensation or if the A/C wasn't on long enough to do the same the fan likely won't come on. On some vehicles, the fan comes on several minutes after the vehicle has been shut off and has met the above criteria. I don't know specifically what GM's criteria are, others will likely know.
