Front Pad Squel

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if there are any tricks to get this to stop. I bought this truck used and replaced the front pads and rotors, as they were done. After install the pads would squell while moving at low speed 20k and under with no brake applied and now they are also squelling with the brake applied...Anoying!

How can I fix this??

Thanks to all that reply!

possible dragging pads, mine squeek all the way around if they are wet or cold..i just live with it, i know some people put some sort of grease on the pads but you can't expect metal on metal to be quiet

Make sure one of the brake pad clips (on the caliper bracket) isn't bent and rubbing the rotor.

Otherwise, take those pads back and get the better grade ones.

I can't count how many brake jobs that I've done on these trucks and had 0 squeal issues.
