Help,pnp Switch/neutral Saftey Switch Problem

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just changed the transmission in my 01 Tahoe and now it won't start. The starter does not engage. I can jump the relay and the starter will engage so I'm guessing it's something to do with the Neutral Safety Swith (PNP). When I was changing the tranny I found out what a pain in the a$$ it is to try to unplug that switch because it seems as though it is glued in or sealed in a way to prevent corrosion. Is it possible that I'm not getting a good connection at the connector for the PNP? Is there a clever way to remove the glue/sealant easily? Anyone know what wires at the connector plug should be grounds or powers? I could sure use any help possible, Thanks.
