Dic Oil Life?

i think i may have asked something similar regarding synthetic before, maybe it was a dream. but oil change intervals, do i go by milage or by what the dic tells me the oil life is like? i bought the truck in october, im not scheduled for an oil change until the end of jan, but im almost at the km needed for a regular oil change interval, another 700 km or so to go. but the dic is telling me my oil life is at 50% still. i havent worked the truck hard at all in the last 2 months havent towed it and i havent beaten it aside from a few times to see how she goes. so which should i follow? mostly for the sake of my warranty. the service girl at the dealership told me i can do 10 000 km with synthetic which is what im putting in next anyway.

 

oh and gm's how ever many point inspection when you gt an oil change is a load of crap. the little thing on the air box that tells you the filter life is broken or missing a piece or something, i checked the filter last night, it was black. real black, full of dirt and dust and other fun things. glad they checked it for me.

DIC Oil life monitor - Try the search for this one. There are many topics dicsussing the validity of the OLM.

 

FOr the air filter. I have heard that the little gauge just plain old doesn't work. Most likely why they don't come with them anymore. My '08 does not have one and I have the high flow air filter option.
