Help With Heated Seats( I Searched But Didnt Find A Thread Similiar To

I have a 06 silverado crew cab that ive owned for about 5 months now and when i bought it the seat heater cushion didnt not work on drivers and passenger seats. I thought no big deal its probally the heated element. I ordered the heated element from napa and was going to tackle the job today, but i decided to plug the element in first just to make sure it worked before pulling the seat apart and replacing the element. Surprise surprise the new element also did not heat up. I get power back to the element but no ground. I thought i had it narrowed down to the seat module but when i was leaving my shop i turned on the just the cushion and not the both(cushion and back) the bottom started heating up. Im going to double check it again in the morning on the way to work.

 

So far here is my issue. When the seat heater buttons are light up for both the back and cushion only the back heats up. When only the cushion is selected the cushion heats up normal. Like i stated ill double check the issue tomorrow. I searched for about 4 hours today and everything im finding are issues with the elements shorted out not working at all. Do you guys have any ideas?

I do know in my truck when they replaced the drivers seat heat element, I think they also had to re-program something. On mine when selecting back and bottom the light in the switch would go out after about 2 mins. back only was ok. They changed the seat bottom element and reset the system. Works great now.

I don't think the seats work the way you are describing.

 

Last I checked in all trucks 03+ you can either turn on the seat back and bottom or turn on just the seat back.

According to the lights on my switch. If you hit the button for the back heater the light for the cushion heater also lights up, but the cushion doesn't get hot. Even if i turn the heaters on separately i still cant get both the cushion and back to work at the same time. if i turn the cushion on by itself it works. So im stumped...
