I have power buckets in my 2000 2500, is there any way to get the armrests off? The one on the drivers seat is loose and want to see if it can be tightened. ???

I just looked at mine and I don't see how to adjust them without taking the seat covers (in my case leather) off...

I also thought the armrests in my 01 Tahoe were too close to the body.  A friend has an older truck with same and I was surprised to see the armrest bent way outward from the seat, he said it came that way from a previous owner.  It takes a LOT of force but you can bend them outward/away from the seat - it's scary to push on them so hard (and ya think they might break off - maybe they will if too much force is applied??) but they will bend outward to be a little more useful and they don't get loose or anything (well mine didn't).

It would be nice if anyone knows how to remove them.

If you can't get it off w/o a total seat disassembly maybe you can jam something between it and the seat to keep it from being loose.

I use the one on my seat all of the time.  The center console is too far away, and I usually lean on the window ledge anyways.  I have lots of room between me and the armrest though, I am a skinny bastard  (5'8" 140lbs)

I agree with you all, the arm resrts are to low and close.  I very seldom use mine unless I scootch to one side of the seat.  The General definately need a revamp!! :thumb:

All you gotta do is pull on the seat fabric where the armrest connects to the seat, it should stretch over the rounded piece of steel.  all you gotta do is take a clip off from the inside and the arm rest will pull right off.
