Surges When Driving

Need some help here. I brought my truck in because I had a light on the dash which turned out to be a bad Mass Air Flow (MAF) part MF8411. After the shop replaced the sensor they had problems with the truck not running correctly. They replaced it with another MAF. When I picked it up I noticed the truck surged when I was driving (it did not do this before). I can drive it but it doesn't run smoothly when I am driving it. It appears to idle just fine. I took it back to the shop and they couldn't figure out why it was having problems. No new codes are being thrown. The mechanic indicated it could be a bad EGR value. So the question is why is it surging now after I replaced the MAF sensor? The good news is there is no light on the dash so the MAF appears to be issue. What else could cause the surging? I read on this site it could be EGR value and it could be clogged. How can I test it? Where is the value located? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It is annoying to bring in a vehicle to get repaired only to get back worse than when you brought it in.
