Dealer says it's the weather... hmmm my Droid X locks a signal, my Camry Locks a signal, my portable on the motorcycle locks a signal...

for the past 2 weeks with the heavy rain and crap in Southern CA the GPS won't lock a signal, I have a GPS logo with an RED X thru it on the NAV screen and when I check the hidden menu for GPS status, it shows 3 - 4 Satellites flickering in and out, but won't lock a signal and has been reporting me in Washington DC for the past 2 weeks, I live in Los Angeles..

it locked a signal for about 15 minutes last Tuesday when I was driving up to Wrightwood, but other than that nothing.. Dealer told me today it's the weather and I have to wait till it clears up and bring it back if it continues, *Sigh*

I'm thinking of running a new antenna out of the cab and to the roof, personally I think mounting a GPS antenna inside of the dash is retarded..

so I fixed my issue, i pulled the radio to discover the GPS antenna connection wire was bent and kinked, went to the dealer with it and showed the them the problem, thankfully i've known the the service manager at the dealership i use for almost 20 years and 6 Chevy vehicles and he knows I am an Certified ASE tech.. he gave me a new antenna, took a few minutes to install it and now it is reading 8 of 12 SAT signals..

How do you get to the hidden menu for the GPS status?
