Clicking Noise After Turning Engine Off (not Heat Shield)

I have a 2010 GMC Sierra SLT Z71 that is approximately 8 months old (9K miles). About two weeks ago I began noticing a brief clicking/ticking sound that occurs approximately 30-60 seconds after turning my engine off. It is definitely NOT the heat shield ticking and popping, which I also hear, but this is a distinctly different sound. The sound comes from underneath the truck, approximately in the mid-section (perhaps 2-3 feet forward of where the bed meets the cab). It is very brief -- perhaps 2-3 quick clicks/ticks (like it would sound if you clicked a flashlight on and off very quickly). Does anyone know what this sounds is and/or what may be causing it?

My guess would be the exhaust system cooling down? Mine ticks.

It is your fuel pump shutting off. My Sierra did that all the time. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks, 07blackz71. That seems to make sense. What seems odd though is that it started all of a sudden (if I recall accurately, the first time I noticed it was on an extremely cold morning (single digit temp) two weeks ago. Had it been doing it earlier, I am confident I would have noticed it at some point over the past 8 months (because I notice EVERY little sound! ). Any idea why it would start doing this after 8 months and not right from the beginning?

I have no clue why it would all of a sudden start. I didn't notice mine right away but when I did notice it I had the wife turn the truck off and I listened and that is what I pinpointed it to be. It is kind of a three clicks. Two of sound and one of the other. I had that truck for 3.5 years with no issues.
