Gave Up On Gm Remote Start Got A Clifford

after almost 3 months of battling 2 local GM dealers over installing a ARSS in my 2011 LS I gave up and got a Clifford 20.7x clifford_20_7x-300-210.jpg

this thing is insane. 1 mile range, lifetime warranty, Programmable run times up to an hour, cabin temperature sensor, just awesome glad i went with it. oh and it was cheaper than the arss.

Good choice, but how was it cheaper?

$525 for the GM and $400 for The clifford (the shop cut me a deal) they said it would probably run the same $525 Retail for our trucks

A wise choice. Congrats! Do you have any problems with the DRL or headlights staying on when you use the remote start?

they do come on but it doesn't bother me

Check with the installer. I have the same system. My installer programmed it so the parking lights come on with the remote start only. No headlights/DRLs. He also programmed the headlights and reverse lights to come on for 15 seconds when I exit the vehicle at night. They go right out when I hit the lock button.

I did the same thing and had mine installed with just the running light's that come on when the truck is remote started. It would suck to sit in front of the gmt 900 lights in a parking lot or have them coming through the windows at a house late at night.

I might have them programmed off. Good points.

That's the same Clifford remote as mine. I had the factory remote option when I ordered my truck and was NEVER happy with the range, it sucked. It's not even in the same ballpark as the Clifford 1 mile remote.

they can do basic start for 199 on these trucks but when you go to the 1 mile range, 2 way technology the prices go up. Obviously these are up for negotiation too if he's got $125 profit to work with lol

Hmmm...Not bad.

<<<<Has a hookup on such things

I really don't like my factory remote start. 10 minutes my ass. Truck is barely warm, much less defrosted. Plus the range blows.

yeah I heard all those things. I liked the features of the gm starter but this one does almost the same stuff and what it doesn't do the onstar app for my iphone will. (other than changing the radio station lol)

Does GM make a two way remote start? The one I've got from factory is okay, but it doesn't have much range on it and I'd like to have some kind of notification it's started.
