Schrader Valve Fuel Pressure Port

Hi,

the Schrader valve in the fuel pressure port of my '97 Tahoe (5.7L) is leaking and the valve core is pretty easy to exchange with a usual valve core remover. I'm wondering if somebody knows where fuel resistent valve cores like this ones in the section "Fuel Sytem Cores"..

..are available. The usual car part stores just sell regular tire valve cores. GM sells an expensive repair kit for $50 which doesn't fit anywhere. Also I don't want to exchange the fuel pipe just because of a broken Schrader valve.

Don't bother to contact Schrader-Bridgeport they are not very helpfull.

But anyway, after a lot of researching, I think I found the correct part for me:

AC Delco #12570619

It's available by Rock Auto for about $20. The real tricky part is, that it is listed under the section "throttle body repair kit" and only for Vortec's starting at the year 2000. The P/N listed (by Rock Auto & GM dealership) for 1999 before is the wrong one for my 1997 Tahoe as I just need a plain Schrader valve and cap.

Also when clicking on the correct part number on Rock Auto, it will tell you this..

CHEVROLET (1991 - 2011)

..but it doesn't find it if you look for year before 2000.

So it seems that GM messed up a big time. Just for the case somebody is running in the same trouble.
